18 Apr 2023 : Runcorn beaten on penalties in Liverpool Senior Cup final
Runcorn finished as runners-up in the Liverpool Senior Cup after a hard-fought final at Widnes tonight.
Congratulations to Marine who ran out 4-3 winners in a penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw over 90 minutes.
Both sides had their chances in normal time but ex Linnets 'keeper Bayleigh Passant saved two of the Runcorn spot kicks while Danny Taberner kept out one Marine penalty.
Linnets had turned in a terrific effort and were warmly applauded by their 1,500 following before Marine lifted the trophy.
18 Apr 2023 : Linnets tickets for Liverpool Senior Cup final sell out
All 1,500 tickets available to Runcorn Linnets fans for tonight's Liverpool Senior Cup final against Marine have been sold.
It has been a remarkable response from our supporters and we look forward to seeing you all at the DCBL Stadium and Runcorn painting our neighbouring town yellow and green!
Please do not travel to the final without a ticket as there will be no tickets available or admission at the turnstiles.
Ticket holders are asked to ignore the turnstile numbers printed on their ticket as due to the high demand, Runcorn fans will now be in the North Stand on Sinclair Avenue (on the opposite side of the stadium to the car park), where four turnstiles will be in operation.
Please ensure that you arrive in good time for the 7.45pm kick off - turnstiles will open at 6.45pm - and have your e-ticket or printed ticket ready for scanning at your entry point.

17 Apr 2023 : Linnets fans now in North Stand for cup final as our ticket allocation increases to 1,500
Due to the fantastic response and such high demand for tickets from Runcorn Linnets for tomorrow's ticket-only Liverpool Senior Cup final, our club chairman Pete Cartledge and general manager Bren Connolly met with DCBL Stadium management earlier today.
Arrangements for the match were reviewed and after consulting with Marine, it has been agreed that Linnets fans will now be accommodated in the North Stand, where there are twice as many turnstiles available.
The change is to allow extra Runcorn fans into the stadium with swifter access and greater comfort.
The capacity for Linnets fans will be raised to 1,500 with tickets remaining on sale until the 7.45pm kick off, unless there is an earlier sellout.
The club has already sold out its initial 1,000 allocation and the extra 300 tickets, which went on sale only this morning.
No further tickets will be made available once the latest 200 have been snapped up so anybody wishing to attend is advised to purchase without delay.
There will be no pay at the "gate" - admission is by ticket only.
Linnets fans can purchase their tickets here
For anyone not familiar with the layout of the stadium, the North Stand is on Sinclair Avenue (on the opposite side to the car park).
There will be no need for tickets to be reissued.
Fans should ignore the previous instruction to use the SW turnstiles and instead head to the North Stand, presenting their existing tickets for scanning at any of the four turnstiles in operation.
Further information, including parking arrangements, will be available on Tuesday morning.
16 Apr 2023 : Play-offs here we come - again!
Runcorn Linnets have secured a place in The Pitching In Northern Premier League West Division for the second successive season.
Needing a win to stay in contention, Mossley were held 0-0 in their game at City of Liverpool today, meaning that Linnets are assured of at least fifth spot with one game to play.
Witton Albion, the only other team to have been in with a chance of making the semi-finals ahead of the penultimate weekend of the season, had likewise drawn a blank at Hanley Town yesterday as Linnets defeated Ramsbottom United 5-0 at APEC Taxis Stadium.
Runcorn go into next Saturday's final league game at Trafford knowing that a win could yet earn a fourth-position finish.
We will travel to Leek Town or Workington AFC on Tuesday, April 25th to play for a place in the final on Saturday, April 29th.
10 Apr 2023 : Ticketing arrangements for Liverpool Senior Cup final
Runcorn Linnets are pleased to announce ticketing arrangements for the Liverpool Senior Cup final against Marine.
The final is on Tuesday, April 18 2023 at The DCBL Stadium, Lowerhouse Lane, Widnes, WA7 6GJ (kick off 7.45pm) and is ticket-only.
There is a 24-hour priority on ticket sales for members and season ticket holders (please see below for full details)
Adult tickets cost £7 each and concessionary tickets, covering all other ticket categories (including children Under 16s, students in full-time education and over 65s) are £3 each.
All children under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Please note that unaccompanied children will not be allowed into the DCBL Stadium
Linnets fans are required to purchase tickets in advance here
They will need to register for the online system if they haven't done so previously.
There will be strictly no "pay-at-the-gate" entry.
Trust members and season ticket holders will have priority to purchase their ticket online from 9am on Tuesday, April 11th
If you are both a Trust member and season ticket holder, you are entitled to one priority ticket.
There is a facility for RLFC junior members to obtain a priority ticket but as unaccompanied Under 16s will not be allowed into the stadium for the final, a junior member will require an adult to buy their ticket (along with an adult ticket).
An adult who is neither a Trust member nor season ticket holder can buy a priority ticket for themselves and for the junior member(s). Priority ticket sales will be monitored to ensure this process is being followed correctly.
Tickets will be on general sale from 9am on Wednesday, April 12, likewise using the ticket link above.
Again, junior tickets can only be purchased by an adult, who is also buying a ticket to attend the game.
In extenuating circumstances, where a supporter is either unable to purchase their ticket online or having genuine difficulty in doing so, we will endeavour to accommodate requests through Contact Us for tickets to be purchased from APEC Taxis Stadium.
The South Stand will be used for the final with unreserved seating, enabling family groups and friends to sit together where possible.
The crowd will be segregated with each set of fans using separate turnstiles.
Turnstiles will open at 6.45pm.
Runcorn fans must present their e-ticket for scanning at turnstiles SW1 or SW2.
Alternatively, tickets can be printed by the purchaser if preferred.
This is an all-pay game and Linnets season tickets cannot be used to gain admission.
Runcorn Linnets have progressed to the final of the Liverpool County FA Senior Cup by beating fellow NPL West teams Prescot Cables, City of Liverpool and Bootle along with Litherland REMYCA of the North West Counties League.
This is the first time the club has entered the competition so to have reached the final is an achievement in itself.
But, of course, we want to go the extra step and lift the trophy.
Linnets chairman Peter Cartledge said: "We have every respect for Marine as a team and as a club. Obviously on league ranking, they will be favourites.
"However, we have already shown ourselves capable of bridging this kind of gap and there is no reason why we cannot do it again.
"It was only last season of course that we crossed swords with them in the Pitching In Northern Premier League West play-off final.
"Since their slender victory in front of a 1,600 sellout crowd at our ground, Marine have, as expected, prospered in the NPL Premier Division. Like ourselves they have aspirations to reach the promotion play-offs again.
"I have every confidence in our management and team to do the business and am sure that the final will be a fitting climax to this season's competition.
"With the final being hosted by our near neighbours, there is sure to be a great turnout from our fans as we face another really well-supported community club in what will be a great occasion for all concerned."
