Runcorn lost to Maltby Main FC in the The Emirates FA Cup - Preliminary Round at The Millbank Linnets Stadium with a score of 1-2. Paul Shanley scored for the Linnets following a great strike in the 13th minute. Maltby Main FC equalised in added time of the first half. Maltby Main FC went ahead in the 69th minute.

Runcorn Linnets have been handed a home derby against Premier Division outfit Warrington Town in the first round of the Integro Cup, the EVO-STIK League's challenge cup.

Ties will be played in w/c September 17th.

Both previous meetings have been in the Cheshire Senior Cup. We won 2-1 at Cantilever Park in 2007 with Warrington responding in 2011 with a 1-0 victory on their only visit thus far to the Millbank Linnets Stadium.

Runcorn Linnets manager Michael Ellison has moved to bolster his defence by signing Peter Wylie from Marine.

Peter, 24, joined the EVO-STIK League Premier Division side last year from Skelmersdale United.

Ellison said: "He is a versatile defender who can play anywhere across the back four.

"He has a wealth of experience at EVO-STIK level. I'm delighted to have Peter in  - he'll certainly improve the squad."

Peter, 24, began his career at Blackburn Rovers, featuring in their FA Youth Cup side, before moving to Skelmersdale in 2013.

He joined Stalybridge Celtic in March 2015, making 55 appearances for the Bower Fold club's National League North team, before returning to Skem.

Linnets hope to have the newcomer's registration completed in time for their home debut tonight in EVO-STIK League Division One West against Chasetown (ko 7.45pm).

The club has been handed a home tie in the Cheshire Senior Cup preliminary round.

Our visitors will be Vauxhall Motors of The Hallmark Security League Division One South.

Ties are scheduled for week commencing October 29th.

Runcorn lost to Droylsden in the EVO-STIK First Division West at The Butchers Arms Ground with a score of 4-2. Droylsden went ahead in the 20th minute. Droylsden increased their lead in the 30th minute with a shot that went in off the post. Freddie Potter closed the gap following a great shot from close range in the 53rd minute. Droylsden increased their lead in the 73rd minute. Freddie Potter closed the gap with a cracking header from the edge of the 6 yard box in the 82nd minute. Droylsden increased their lead in the 90th minute.
