26 Jul 2018 : Wait is worthwhile as Cup king Kurt rejoins Runcorn Linnets
Runcorn Linnets' FA Cup record breaker Kurt Sherlock has rejoined the EVO-STIK League newcomers ahead of their season- opening extra preliminary round tie at Hallam in little more than a fortnight's time.
The striker's five goals in a home replay against Glasshoughton Welfare at the same stage of the competition in 2015-16 ranks as a Linnets club best goals haul for any game in the competition.
Kurt, 26, has been training with Linnets throughout the close season, playing in friendlies as an anonymous if easily recognisable trialist, with fans patiently waiting for news of his possible return.
This was duly confirmed this afternoon when he put pen to paper to secure a comeback to the club after a two-season absence, which has seen him play in Vanarama National League North for Stalybridge Celtic, Marine and Radcliffe in the EVO-STIK League and Welsh Premier League outfit Aberystwyth Town.
Kurt is a hard-working striker with an eye for a spectacular strike - none better than his ultra long-range effort for Linnets at Abbey Hey in September 2015, voted the club's Goal of the Season.
He played in the North West Counties Football League for a number of seasons, representing Formby and Bootle before initially joining the Linnets in December 2014, scoring 17 times in 56 appearances.
Linnets' FA Cup tie at Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One side Hallam is on Sunday, August 12th (ko 3pm).

24 Jul 2018 : Runcorn Linnets sign FC United of Manchester striker Adam Gilchrist
Runcorn Linnets have made their first new signing of the summer to bolster the squad which won last season's Hallmark Security League Premier Division title.
Front man Adam Gilchrist has tonight joined the EVO-STIK League new boys on dual registration from FC United of Manchester, the Vanarama National League North club.
Adam had appeared in Linnets' friendlies at home to Ashton United and away to Rhyl but did not feature in this evening's 3-2 defeat of City of Liverpool.
Adam joined FC United for the second half of last season, making his debut in the 2-2 draw at Salford City on New Year's Day.
He went in to make five further apoearances during 2017-18, scoring one goal - the winner in a 1-0 victory over Manchester Premier Cup hosts Hyde United.
Adam's younger brother Jason Gilchrist had already played for FC United and the Red Rebels turned to Adam to help fill the void left by Jason's departure at the end of November 2017.
Adam, 28, was signed by FC United after training with them for several weeks.
In a 10-year non-league career he has also played for Radcliffe Borough (now Radcliffe FC), St Helens Town, Marine, Ashton Athletic and, more recently, Burscough.
Adam is comfortable either through the middle or on the right and left of attack. He is also a UEFA B qualified coach.
We welcone Adam and wish him the very best best of luck and every success with Runcorn Linnets.
