Match Report

27 Nov 2017 : Club expresses gratitude to Hayes family for their efforts in the Tea Bar

Runcorn Linnets have today through the forum on the website received the resignation of the Hayes family from the Tea Bar. Brian and Barbara and their family have been an integral part of match days since the formation of the club.

Linnets chairman Mark Buckley said "Whilst obviously extremely saddened, we wish Brian and Barbara and everyone that has been involved well and thank them for everything that they have done the club, their contribution has been enormous."

25 Nov 2017 : Kieron Brislen returns to Runcorn Linnets

The club has re-signed Kieron Brislen from our near neighbours, Widnes.

Since last playing for the Linnets in 2015-16 season, right full back Kieron has also had spells at AFC Liverpool and Bootle.

Welcome back, Brizzo!

24 Nov 2017 : New match day arrangements – questions and answers

This Saturday's home game in the Hallmark Security League Premier Division against Ashton Athletic will see our new clubhouse in use for the first time.

It will be fully operational, although some new furnishings and equipment have yet to be delivered.

There are changes to access to the site, entry to the ground and location of canteen and toilets.

Some frequently asked questions – and answers! – to the revised match day arrangements are below for the information of our fans and visitors:

What are the new access routes for those coming to the ground?

The primary change is that traffic and pedestrian access to the site is via the entrance at the end of Stockham Lane, near the Church, and no longer via the "Halton Arms entrance". This is effectively the next turning right off Murdsihaw Avenue, travelling from Murdishaw Roundabout. Cars leave the stadium site the same way, using Stockham Lane.

Parking for the stadium is now solely on the car-park next to the new clubhouse (which used to be the overflow car park). Disabled parking spaces, immediately outside the clubhouse, are for use of blue badge holders only.

There will be a car park in the general vicinity of our old car park, but that will be for the retail outlets there, and Aldi.

What work has been undertaken to facilitate these new arrangements?

The old overflow car park has been resurfaced, and the pedestrian crossing and pavement on Stockham Lane have been fitted.

Where do spectators enter the ground?

The old secondary turnstile on Stockham Lane is now the primary turnstile. This is just around the corner from our new car park and the main entrance to the new clubhouse which is for players and officials only. The turnstile near the old clubhouse has been moved and re-sited between the red-brick changing rooms, and the main double gates as the new secondary turnstile to be used at matches expected to attract larger than normal attendances.

Are supporters at first-team games able to enter the clubhouse without coming into the ground?

No, they will need to enter via the turnstile first of all. Once inside, they have the choice of going into the clubhouse through a nearby entrance or following a pathway around the back of new building to pitch side.

What toilet facilities are available at the ground?

Inside the clubhouse there is a Gents (1 x WC, and 2 x urinals), a Ladies (2 x WC), and a disabled/baby change facility. Pitch-side there is a Gents (1 x WC, 3 x urinals/trough) and a Ladies (2 x WC).

Is the new clubhouse licensed?

Yes. The new clubhouse has a full license. Trust Board member Mike Bignall is the licensee. We will have a range of alcoholic drinks on sale this Saturday from a temporary sales point inside the clubhouse.

There is a new floodlit club car park adjacent to the replacement building. How many cars will be catered for and is there a new overflow area for when the car park is full?

There is no additional parking on site, but the newly-resurfaced car park should accommodate around 200 cars.

Where can I buy hot food and drinks?

Our new clubhouse has a canteen which will be open on first-team match days. The usual range of refreshments can be purchased from serving hatches both at pitch side and inside the clubhouse.

Where is the new main exit from the stadium on match days?

Fans are asked to leave the ground through the double gate next to the new main turnstile. Please ensure you keep to the footpaths and are aware of traffic that will now be coming along Stockham Lane before and following the match. Those leaving (and indeed) arriving in cars are also asked to be mindful of pedestrians. Spectators will now only be able to leave the ground by the gate on the main stand side (at the clubhouse end of the ground) in emergencies.
