18 Nov 2017 : Linnets sign goalkeeper Germano Mendes and midfielder Tom Molyneux

With Matthew Holmes suspended and Terry Smith unavailable, Runcorn Linnets have drafted in goalkeeper Germano Mendes ahead of this afternoon's game against Northwich Vics.

Germano joins us from Marine for whom he appeared at The Millbank Linnets Stadium in pre-season. He has also played against us for AFC Liverpool from where he joined the Mariners last season, having also represented Vauxhall Motors and Droylsden.

The 25-year-old was born in Guinea-Bissau and his other previous clubs include Oeiras (Portugal) and JS Hercules (Finland).

Also joining the Linnets is a former Everton youth team captain, Tom Molyneux. The 22-year-old central midfielder, who can play in the holding role, has played in The Hallmark Security League for Ashton Town and was earlier this season transferred from Warrington Town to Skelmersdale United. He has experience in the Welsh leagues with Rhyl and Caernarfon Town.

We welcome both players to The Millbank Linnets Stadium and hope they enjoy their time with us.

17 Nov 2017 : New spectator entrance and toilet facilities in use as Vics visit The Millbank Linnets Stadium

Fans coming to The Millbank Linnets Stadium for this Saturday's game against Northwich Victoria are advised that new admission arrangements are in operation.

What has hitherto been the main turnstile (outside the 'old' clubhouse) has now been moved and for this match and all future Linnets first-team fixtures, the turnstile in Stockham Lane (until now only used if a larger than expected crowd is anticipated) becomes the recognised entrance for fans.

The former main turnstile is being re-positioned at the ground but will only be used at games if necessary.

Supporters coming to the game by car are urged to use the newly-resurfaced former overflow car park which is now our designated parking space.

Our traditional main car park area is to become part of the forthcoming retail and leisure development for the exclusive use of its customers.

The upgraded car park is adjacent to the new clubhouse and the turnstile is literally just around the corner.

For this match only, drivers should continue to use the customary stadium entrance, by the Halton Arms, but from Saturday, November 23rd (when we open our new clubhouse on the visit of Ashton Athletic), traffic will be directed along Stockham Lane.

For those who have turned left off the A533 Southern Expressway at Murdishaw Roundabout, this is the next right turn off Murdishaw Avenue, after passing our current main car park entrance/exit.

Fans attending the Northwich game are also asked to note the toilet block in the 'old' clubhouse compound has been decommissioned and although the new clubhouse will not be open until the Ashton match, toilets accessed from the outside of the new building, on pitch side, will instead be in use this Saturday.
