Sam Fitton has left Runcorn Linnets to join Northwich Victoria and we wish him well at his new club.

Midfielder Sam recently joined us from Padiham and is now reunited with his old boss Steve Wilkes, following Vics' appointment of the ex-Linnets manager.

Runcorn beat AFC Darwen in the The Hallmark Security League Premier Division at Anchor Ground with a score of 0-1. Mitch Bryant scored for the Linnets with a well-taken tap from inside the 6 yard box following a cross across the front of goal in the 24th minute.

Goalkeeper Matt Holmes has returned to Runcorn Linnets after a brief stay at Northwich Victoria and will join the squad for tonight's trip to AFC Darwen in The Hallmark Security League Premier Division.

Runcorn Linnets face a long trip to the North East in the Buildbase FA Vase first round.

We will be away to Team Northumbria on Saturday, October 21st (ko 3pm).

Team Northumbria play in the top flight (Division One) of the Ebac Northern League, currently lying 11th of 22 teams with two wins and three defeats at home and 13 points overall from 10 games.

They play at the Coach Lane Campus of Northumbria University in the Benton district of Newcastle upon Tyne, NE7 7XA.

Team Northumbria entered this season's FA Vase in the second qualifying round, defeating visitors Durham City of Northern League Division Two 2-0 on Saturday.

Runcorn drew with Abbey Hey in the The Hallmark Security League Premier Division at The Millbank Linnets Stadium with a score of 2-2. Stuart Wellstead scored for the Linnets in the 13th minute with a brilliant volley from just outside the area that was unstoppable. Abbey Hey equalised in the 16th minute. Abbey Hey scored in the 45th minute. Stuart Wellstead equalised in the 69th minute following a well-taken penalty.
