22 Jul 2017 : Runcorn beat Middlewich Town 1-9
Runcorn beat Middlewich Town in the Pre-season warm-up at Seddon Street with a score of 1-9. Freddie Potter put the Linnets ahead in the 19th minute following a well-placed header from inside the 6 yard box. Mitch Bryant increased the Linnets' lead in the 39th minute following a coolly taken effort from just inside the area. Middlewich Town closed the gap in the 44th minute. Stuart Wellstead increased the Linnets' lead following a coolly taken tap from just outside the 6 yard box after the 'keeper fumbled the ball in the 45th minute. A trialist extended our lead from a firm strike after the 'keeper fumbled the ball in the 47th minute. Freddie Potter put us four goals clear following a well-placed touch from just inside the area in the 54th minute. A trialist added another to our tally in the 62nd minute following a powerful header from just outside the 6 yard box that went into the top left corner. Stuart Wellstead continued the domination with a terrific header from just inside the area in the 66th minute. Antony Hickey further extended our lead with a great chip from just inside the area in the 80th minute. Freddie Potter put us eight goals ahead with a fantastic header from inside the 6 yard box in the 85th minute.
20 Jul 2017 : Visit to Prescot is added to pre-season schedule
The Linnets will have an extra warm-up game ahead of the new season with a visit to Prescot Cables confirmed.
We will go to Volair Park for what will now be our final 2017 pre-season friendly on Monday, July 31st (kick off 7.45pm).
Our season opens the following Saturday (August 5th) with a home tie against Hemsworth Miners Welfare in The Emirates FA Cup extra-preliminary round.
19 Jul 2017 : Great prizes to be won in our Millbank Golf Day raffle - tickets now on sale
As part of our annual Golf Day at Runcorn Golf Club on Thursday, August 17th we are holding a raffle to be drawn at the event.
Tickets cost £5 for a strip of five and these will not only be available at the golf day, which is being sponsored by our main sponsors, Millbank, but also in advance. They are also on sale at home games up to the competition itself.
With reduced admission for pre-season games and no raffle or Golden Goal at these games – the last being against Skelmersdale United on Saturday, July 29th – we hope our fans will feel able to participate in the golf draw which offers some great prizes.
The purpose of the Golf Day is to raise funds to support the activities of Runcorn Linnets Football Club. The club provides the opportunity to take part in football at all age groups either through playing or as a fan.
The facilities at The Millbank Linnets Stadium complex are relatively new and this type of fundraising is required to develop the club in all aspects.
The income generated is essential for the club to operate successfully. There are 16 raffle prizes in all...and counting.

Runcorn lost to Marine in the Pre-season warm-up at The Millbank Linnets Stadium with a score of 0-1. Marine went ahead in the 14th minute.

Runcorn beat Witton Albion in the Pre-season warm-up at The Millbank Linnets Stadium with a score of 4-2. A trialist put the Linnets ahead in the 17th minute following a powerful header from just outside the 6 yard box. A trialist increased the Linnets' lead following a cracking strike from just outside the area in the 19th minute. Zac Aley extended our lead in the 37th minute following a well-taken strike from inside the area. Witton Albion pulled one back in the 48th minute. Stuart Wellstead extended our lead following a cheeky tap after the 'keeper fumbled the ball in the 49th minute. Witton Albion pulled one back in the 57th minute.
