14 Jul 2017 : Former Supporters Club chairman Stan Mayhew dies at 96
It is with sadness that we report the passing of one of Runcorn Supporters Club's stalwart former officials.
Stan Mayhew died yesterday at the age of 96.
His time on the Supporters Club committee included a spell as chairman in the early 1980s.
No-one was more passionate about the Linnets than Stan, who would always fight the corner of the original club.
Although unable to follow the modern-day club in person, widower Stan retained a keen interest in our affairs and always wanted to be kept informed of results and hear match reports.
Our deepest sympathy goes to Stan's son, Geoffrey along with other family and friends.
11 Jul 2017 : Linnets gear up for 200 Club recruitment drive ahead of fundraising switch
Our long-running weekly Tote fundraiser will be ending on Saturday, July 22nd and is to be replaced from August with a monthly 200 Club draw with hundreds of pounds in prize money every month - subject to entries.
We are urging all our members, supporters and followers to join in this important fundraiser which will aid the club's future progress and play a big part in continuing on-field success.
Full details of the 200 Club, which costs £5 per month, and how to join will be published on the website very soon.
You will also be able to speak to our fundraising team and sign up to the scheme at any of our three forthcoming home first-team friendlies.
The final Linnets Tote jackpot will be up for grabs on Saturday, July 22nd. It will be won or shared by any player or players successfully predicting the first two numbers drawn in that evening's National Lottery Lotto draw.
In the event of the prize not being won, the jackpot will then be shared equally between all players holding one of those two aforementioned numbers in our Tote, assuming that they have paid for their entry in line with the competition rules.
To guard against multiple entries which could compromise the integrity of the Tote by guaranteeing a player a share of the prize money should the jackpot not be won in the final week, entry into the final draw will be limited to five entries per person.
11 Jul 2017 : James Eastup takes place on board after co-option
James Eastup was last night co-opted on to the Trust Board of Runcorn Linnets.
James has already done much valuable work as part of the club's media team, particularly with social media and photography.
He will serve on the board until the Annual General Meeting in December, when he has the chance along with fellow co-optees Tracy Measor (formerly Ryder) and Lee Chesterson to seek election by the club membership.
The latest co-option means the board is back to a full complement.
James said: "Having been involved with the media group for the past year, I have enjoyed working within the club and I am proud to be co-opted onto the board and have the opportunity to be more involved."
