20 Jun 2017 : Support is needed to keep Travel Club on the road

At the end of last season, our Travel Club organiser, John Greenhalgh retired from his role and with the loss at the same time of a few other regular users, fears were expressed that the regular minibus to Linnets away ganes would no longer be viable to run.

We have one of the biggest travelling contingents in our league but the vast majority of our following traditionally journeys to opposition grounds by car.

It was John's wish on stepping down from his 'duties' that someone would come forward to take over the running of the service.

The football club is conscious that should the minibus cease to operate, a number of staunch fans will no longer be able to follow the team on the road.

This would be a great shame and something we clearly don't want to see happen.

Trust Board member, Lee Chesterson is more than willing to keep the Travel Club operating but we would obviously need to make it feasible financially.

So we can gauge ongoing interest and assess whether we will have sufficient numbers to sustain the minibus, we would appeal to anyone interested in committing to using the Travel Club on a regular basis to get in touch.

We already have a number of pick-up and drop off points around town and the beauty of travelling by minibus is you can sit back and enjoy the trip - without having to worry about driving home, if you fancy enjoying the hospitality in our hosts' clubhouse while you are out!

You can get in touch through Contact Us on the website. or telephone Lee Chesterson on 07713194962

17 Jun 2017 : Macron Challenge Cup draw

Runcorn Linnets have been drawn away to Stockport Town or Maine Road in the Hallmark Security League's Macron Challenge Cup Second Round South after we received a first-round bye in the regionalised draw.

Northwich Victoria's place in a 23-club Premier Division was earlier confirmed by a vote of clubs at the League AGM in Blackpool.

14 Jun 2017 : Skelmersdale United fill July 29th friendly vacancy

Thanks to Skelmersdale United, we now have a fixture again for the weekend before the start of the 2017-18 season.

The Evo-Stik League club will visit the Millbank Linnets Stadium for a friendly on Saturday, July 29th following the cancellation of our scheduled warm-up game against Colne.

We are very grateful to Skem for agreeing to the fixture at relatively short notice and look forward to welcoming them.

The game will kick off at 3pm.

13 Jun 2017 : Runcorn Linnets seek replacement opposition for home friendly on July 29th

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the visit of Colne on Saturday, 29th July has been cancelled.

This leaves Runcorn Linnets with a free date at a crucial time in the pre-season build-up.

If any clubs at Step 4 or above would like to play Runcorn Linnets at the Millbank Linnets Stadium on that date (with a 3pm kick off), can they please contact [email protected] in the first instance.

06 Jun 2017 : First refusal on 2017-18 player sponsorship to last season's sponsors

The club will again be running its now traditional player sponsorship scheme in which supporters can back their favourite Runcorn Linnets first teamer plus members of the management and backroom staff.

The cost of each sponsorship stays at £50, generating very important revenue for the club as part of our general fundraising to help ensure the team and club operate successfully.

For the first time, and to recognise the contributions of those who supported the scheme last season, fans who sponsored a player in 2016-17 have the opportunity to retain the sponsorship of the same player in the forthcoming campaign.

If 'your' player is still part of the squad, you have first refusal on the sponsorship for another season but confirmation of your interest, together with full payment, must reach the club by no later than June 30th 2017.

After that date, sponsorship will become open and available on a first come, first served basis as the player sponsorships go on general release.

You can see which players are currently available for sponsorship - or check who you sponsored last season!! - by visiting our Squad Page.

To secure your sponsorship for a further year, please use the Contact Us facility on the website to declare your interest in continuing as a player sponsor and we will email you the link so you can complete payment.

If you were a player sponsor last season and the person you sponsored is not on the list, you can if you wish make an alternative choice from players or staff currently unsponsored, making payment by June 30th. At this stage, you will not be able to change player for any other reason.

In the event of a sponsored player leaving the club, the sponsor will as always be able to transfer to a newcomer or an unsponsored player.
