Runcorn beat AFC Darwen in the Hallmark Security League Premier Division at Anchor Ground with a score of 0-3. Stuart Wellstead put the Linnets ahead following a cracking header from just outside the 6 yard box in the 68th minute. Zac Aley increased the Linnets' lead in the 74th minute following a well-taken strike from just inside the area. Stuart Wellstead extended our lead following a fantastic lob from the edge of the area in the 76th minute. Linnets playing with 10 in 85th as Freddie receiving treatment, and all three subs used.

Centre forward Freddie Potter has helped Runcorn Linnets complete a rare awards double after being named Macron Player of the Month for March in the Hallmark Security League Premier Division.

Goals, assists and all-round endeavour, typified by a colossal performance when leading the line in our victory at Bootle, saw Freddie being handed the accolade.

His displays were influential in a 100% points return for the Linnets from four matches during a month which also brought us wins at 1874 Northwich and at home to Ashton Athletic and Congleton Town - securing Macron Club of the Month honours for the Yellow and Greens.

Freddie returned to The Millbank Linnets Stadium in January, from his stint at AFC Liverpool, knowing that he had a job to do.

He has performed his task with humility and tons of effort. Those qualities, combined with his strength, skill and attitude, convinced the Linnets fans that they have a very special player back in the ranks.

Mark Houghton's second half goal in the 1-0 win at Atherton Collieries yesterday made it 100 goals for Runcorn Linnets' first team this season in all competitions - a superb achievement.

Well done, boys and lets hope there are many more still to come!

The Linnets have been announced as Macron Club of the Month for March in the Hallmark Security League Premier Division after a run of four straight wins.

The sequence included outstanding away victories at 1874 Northwich (4-1) and Bootle (2-1).

Thanks and congratulations go to all involved with the club with a special mention for our supporters who have provided such superb backing home and away and, particularly, Michael Ellison, Matt Cross, their backroom team and all the players who on Saturday took us back to the league summit with another brilliant performance at hitherto leaders, Atherton Collieries.
