10 Dec 2016 : Carl Rutter leaves the Linnets

Club Physio, Carl Rutter, has chosen to resign his post and leave the Linnets. Everybody at the club would like to put on record their thanks to Carl who has done a fantastic job with the players during his time with us. We all wish him well for the future.

Runcorn beat New Mills in the Hallmark Security League Premier Division at The Millbank Linnets Stadium with a score of 4-0. Kyle Hamid scored for the Linnets in the 14th minute with a well-taken free-kick from just outside the area that went into the top left corner. Antony Hickey increased the Linnets' lead in the 26th minute with a firm header from inside the 6 yard box following a Danny McKenna cross across the front of goal. Antony Hickey extended our lead with a brilliant strike from just outside the area in added time of the first half. Kristian Holt put us four goals clear in the 66th minute following a cracking strike from inside the area.

10 Dec 2016 : Kev McGrath completes West Didsbury & Chorlton move

West Didsbury & Chorlton have confirmed the signing of centre back Kev McGrath from Runcorn Linnets.

The experienced defender arrived at The Millbank in pre-season but injury and then work commitments limited his appearances to just four.

Revealing in the Question & Answer session after Thursday's AGM that the move was likely , Linnets manager Michael Ellison and assistant Matt Cross had only good things to say about Kev.

All at Runcorn Linnets wish him well.

08 Dec 2016 : Result of Trust Board elections 2016

The club can now announce the result of the Trust Board elections, with the count taking place at the AGM earlier this evening. The outcome sees a newcomer to the board through the election of Mike Bignall.

The votes for each candidate were independently counted and verified by Rob Ashcroft and John Coats from 1874 Northwich Supporters Trust.

Voting papers were received from 83 members with one paper being spoiled.

There were six candidates for a handful of places in this rotation and those polling the highest number of votes down to the fifth highest were therefore elected to serve on the Trust Board for the next two years.

The result (in alphabetical order of surname) was as follows: Mike Bignall 57; Ciaran Clotworthy 48; Hedley Edwards 60; Robert Johnston 77; John Pickering 69 and Steve Pritchard 77.

Congratulations to Mike Bignall, Hedley Edwards, Robert Johnston, John Pickering and Steve Pritchard on their success and commiserations to Ciaran Clotworthy with thanks for her valued contribution as a member of the Trust Board.

03 Dec 2016 : Runcorn draw with Abbey Hey 2-2

Runcorn drew with Abbey Hey in the Hallmark Security League Premier Division at The Millbank Linnets Stadium with a score of 2-2. Brian Matthews scored for the Linnets following a cheeky header from just outside the 6 yard box in the 6th minute. Another goal from Brian Matthews increased the Linnets' lead in the 20th minute with a touch from inside the area. Abbey Hey closed the gap in the 48th minute. Mucca had a penalty saved in 78th minute. Abbey Hey equalised in the 87th minute.
