08 Jul 2016 : Runcorn Linnets face trip to Yorkshire in FA Cup
The club has been drawn at Hemsworth MW in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup on Saturday, August 6th. The winners will travel to Mossley in the preliminary round on Saturday, August 20th.
Linnets visited Hemsworth in the extra prelim in 2012. After a 1-1 draw at MDC Sports Stadium, the replay at the Millbank ended 2-2 after extra-time with the visitors winning a penalty shootout 4-3.
We also have FA Cup history with Mossley, meeting them in the preliminary round of 2011. A 0-0 draw at Seel Park was followed by a 4-0 win for Runcorn in the home rematch.
Runcorn Linnets' second-placed finish in last season's NWCL Premier Division has earned us exemption until the first round proper of the FA Vase.
