08 Sep 2015 : Linnets sign Jason Carey from Glossop
Runcorn Linnets are delighted to announce the signing of striker Jason Carey from Glossop North End.
Jason was a leading light in the Glossop team, which won a North West Counties League double of league title and Challenge Cup in 2014-15 season and his goals were instrumental in the Hillmen also reaching the FA Vase final at Wembley. He unfortunately missed the final through suspension. Jason has been a prolific scorer at our level not only at Glossop but also before that at Runcorn Town and Formby for whom he played against Linnets in the 2012-13 League Challenge Cup final. Our manager Joey Dunn is naturally thrilled to have Jason on board and to have further strengthened his already exciting attacking options.

All involved with Runcorn Linnets wish Allan a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back playing in the Yellow and Green as soon as possible.

05 Sep 2015 : Death of former Linnets goalkeeper Ernie Tildsley
The club is sorry to report the death of Ernie Tildsley, a former hometown goalkeeper with Runcorn AFC in the 1950s. He was 87 years old and passed away suddenly on August 28th.
Ernie played at Canal Street under the management of George Vose, the former Manchester United half-back. He was a very capable goalkeeper who produced some outstanding displays, alerting managers of several top-level professional clubs.
A well-known and popular figure in the town, Ernie also played darts in the Runcorn League in later life. We send condolences to Ernie's family and friends at this difficult time.
