Runcorn Linnets have received a bye through to the first round of the Cheshire Senior Cup.

The preliminary round draw has taken place and the Linnets were one of a handful of teams to receive a bye. Another four teams, last season's semi-finalists, are exempt until round one.

Runcorn beat Bootle in the North West Counties Premier League at The Millbank Linnets Stadium with a score of 2-1. Mark Houghton put the Linnets ahead from inside the penalty area in the 14th minute. Kevin Towey increased the Linnets' lead with a cracker of a shot in the 22nd minute. Bootle closed the gap in the 79th minute.

Runcorn beat Abbey Hey in the North West Counties Premier League at Abbey Stadium with a score of 0-5. Kyle Hamid put the Linnets ahead with a close range shot in the 33rd minute. Warren Bellew increased the Linnets' lead with a fantastic strike in the 38th minute. Kyle Hamid extended our lead from inside the penalty area in the 64th minute. Kyle Hamid put us four goals clear with a diving header in the 80th minute. Michael Ellison added another to our tally with a shot that went in off the post in the 89th minute.
