26 Oct 2013 : Cole Ashton - An unforgettable debut

It looked as though Cole Ashton's debut was going to be memorable for all the right reasons after scoring just 4 minutes into today's match against Barnoldswick. Unfortunately, in the 51st minute he had to be substituted due to injury following a very poor challenge. The latest news is that Cole has got a broken ankle, and so will be out of action for some time. Everybody at the club would like to wish Cole a full and speedy recovery.

Runcorn beat Barnoldswick Town in the League Challenge Cup - Second Round at The Millbank Linnets Stadium with a score of 1-0. Cole Ashton scored on his debut for the Linnets from inside the 6 yard box in the 4th minute. Cole unfortunately ends his debut injured in the 51st minute after a bad challenge. Simmo sent off in 75th for a challenge that was Seemingly no worse than the one that injured Cole and earned the perpetrator a yellow in that instance.

Runcorn beat Norton United in the North West Counties Premier League at Norton CC & MWI with a score of 0-2. Michael Duffy put the Linnets ahead with a fantastic strike in the 8th minute. Norton down to 10 in 12th following second yellow for #2, and Matty Atherton increased the Linnets' lead from the resultant penalty. Rob White sent off in 62nd for second yellow.
