Runcorn beat Bacup Borough in the Vodkat Premier League at West View with a score of 0-3. Paul Prescott gave The Linnets a 47th minute lead, with Kevin Towey doubling the advantage in the 63rd minute. Ged Courtney made it three in the 89th minute.

Jenny explains the importance of having this equipment available to save lives should somebody experience heart problems, "Cardiomyopathy is on the increase and 10,000 young people are at risk every year. You may know only a few, the likes of John Marshall who had just signed for Everton, and Terry Yorath’s son who died aged only 15 when he had just signed for Leeds United.

"I am hoping to raise enough money to have a defibrillator for my Academy and also one for Runcorn Linnets FC, as the age which cardiomyopathy is attacking is between the ages of 11 -25 years old.

"I need to raise £850 for each of the defibrillators, with the total cost being £2,500 which includes training players and coaches in how to use the equipment.

The players from Runcorn Linnets FC will be fund raising too, and some of them, along with the Academy coaches will be doing a parachute jump in October.

Players and Coaches at Sutton Juniors Football Academy will be doing a fun run in April and various other fund raising activities, some with the help of Runcorn Linnets, will take place throughout the year. You can get more information about Cardiomyopathy at the Cardiac Risk in the Young website.

Runcorn lost to Colne in the Vodkat Premier League at Holt House Stadium with a score of 3-2. Colne ahead in 27th. Paul Prescott equalised in 44th, and put the Linnets ahead in the 56th from great supply by Rob Whyte. Colne equalised in 67th, and ahead in 87th. Kev Towey sent off in 89th.
