31 Dec 2010 : Jenny Leyland awarded MBE in New Years Honours List

Congratulations to our Physiotherapist, Jenny Leyland, who has been awarded the MBE for services to Grass Roots Football in Merseyside in this year's New Year's Honours list.

Jenny has been involved in football all her life, and is a massive Liverpool fan. She's been going to Anfield since she was just three and a half, and follows them all over Europe. She's been coaching kids football for 25 years, and three years ago she set up the Sutton Junior Football Academy in St Helens which has gone from strength to strength. It started out with just 8 children when it opened, and has now got 48 members, and has two teams in the Warrington League.

Everybody at the club is very happy that Jenny's efforts have been acknowledged in this way, and will be practising their bowing and curtseying in preparation for the next match!
