The Runcorn Linnets Tote provided a Runcorn man with an early gift of Christmas cheer this week. Jack Weston, 24, of Higher Runcorn, picked up £986 after his numbers 4 and 36 were the first two Lotto numbers drawn on Saturday 28th November. Jack is already well-known to the Linnets faithful when he made an unlikely appearance for The Linnets in this seasons friendly at Chadderton. He was picked as a reserve keeper for the game, but after a spate of second half injuries and knocks, Jack, who plays for Quayside in the Runcorn Sunday League, found himself thrown into the fray for the last ten minutes as a makeshift forward. He acquitted himself well, with a shot on target and he almost set up a second goal as the Linnets won 1-0.

Jack has played the Linnets Tote since its inception, and purchases his ticket from Runcorn Sports Club in Moughland Lane. The Sports Club is becoming a lucky Tote venue for its fifty-odd regular players, with four of the latest big winners all purchasing their ticket there.
