Runcorn lost to Bootle in the Vodkat Premier League at Bucks Park with a score of 3-0. Runcorn denied goal in 15th despite claims it was a yard over the line. Bootle ahead in 48th, and second in 59th, third in 65th.

05 Sep 2009 : Runcorn beat Staveley MW 4-3
Runcorn beat Staveley MW in the First Round Qualifying of the FA Vase at Wincham Park with a score of 4-3 after extra time. Staveley took the lead in the 17th minute, and with Runcorn unable to answer, that's the scoreline they took into the laf-time break. Staveley came out sharp, and doubled their tally just a couple of minutes into the second half. The Linnets then stepped up a gear for 5 minutes with goals from Balazs in the 55th, Woods in the 56th, and a beautifully struck dipping shot from Simon Howard in the 60th minute gave the home side the lead for the first time in the match. Runcorn eased off the gas, and in the 89th minute Staveley equalised forcing extra time. Rio Quinlivan-Grech in the 1st minute of extra time carved his way past 3 men, and then the keeper to clinch vitory for the Linnets. Staveley went down to 10 men minutes later after the scorer of their third goal, who has received a yellow card for taking his shirt off in celebration, was shown a second yellow for diving in the area. Runcorn lost to Bamber Bridge in the FA Cup - Preliminary Round at Irongate with a score of 6-0. Bamber Bridge ahead in 11th, second in 17th minute. Cunningham off injured in 18th. Bamber Bridge 3rd in 33rd minute, and 4th in 35th. 5th goal in 66th from penalty spot. 6th in 78th.
