Steve Wilkes pulls his socks up
Runcorn Linnets managed their second League win in three days with a 6-3 victory over Flixton who are struggling at the bottom of the table.

Joel Pilkington in opened the scoring in the 15th minute, and the tally was doubled by Paul Crewe just 45 seconds later. It then looked as though Flixton might be let back into the game after an attempted Linnets block became a deflection that just got beyond Martin Campbell's grasp in the 21st minute. However, Runcorn stayed in control, and Anthony Murt scored the first of what was to be a hatrick in the 38th minute, and Steve Pickup made it 4-1 in the 40th minute. Just 30 seconds later, Murt scored his second of the evening leaving the half-time score at 5-1.

Murt's third goal of the evening came in the 64th, and with a five goal advantage Runcorn took their foot off the gas a little. Flixton came back with a goal in the 77th, and scored from the penalty spot with almost the last kick of the match.
