A below par performance saw the Linnets beaten 2-4 by Abbey Hey despite taking the lead from a Michael Morrison goal in the 28th minute. The visitors replied immediately to equalise, and then took the advantage in the 40th minute to go into the break with a 1-2 advantage, which was increased to 1-3 in the 64th minute. Melford Knight gave the Linnets hope with a goal 3 minutes later, but Abbey Hey put it to bed in the 73rd minute with their fourth goal of the night.

Jay Edwards has been released to join Paddy O'Driscoll, and David Thompson at Formby. We'd like to wish Jay, who was always a fans' favourite, well at his new club, although we hope he doesn't have too much success on Boxing Day when we play Formby at home. ;-)

Steve Wilkes has, again, strengthened his squad, this time by signing left back Dominic Studley. Dominic has played for Manchester United Reserves and Mossley, and is a Personal Trainer. All at the club would like to extend a warm welcome to Dominic.

In an entertaining and high paced game, Runcorn managed to clinch a valuable three points from fourth placed Glossop. Glossop had the most chances on goal in the first half, but it wasn't until Steve Cunningham scored from penalty spot in the 57th minute that Runcorn were able to push ahead. Glossop piled on the pressure, especially in the last minutes, but the Linnets stood firm to win with the single goal of the match.
