02 Jul 2008 : 2008/2009 Programme Sponsorship

More excellent news as the start of the season approaches!

Just 24 hours after the club secured its shirt sponsorship deals for the forthcoming season, Runcorn Linnets are pleased to announce that Mike Goodier, a local businessman and owner of www.nicepriceuk.com, will continue as the club's official matchday programme sponsor for the 2008/2009 season.

Mike said "I am delighted with the progress being made by the club in its aim to return to Runcorn and would encourage other local businesses to take advantage of one of the numerous forms of sponsorship available to them throughout the coming season."

01 Jul 2008 : FA Competition Draws

The draws have taken place for the FA Competitions we have entered this season. In the FA Vase we play Padiham, at home in the 1st Round, on the 6th Sept. Our inaugural match in the FA Cup is to be played at home against Rossington Main, in the Extra Preliminary, on the 16th August.

Runcorn Linnets Announce Shirt Sponsors

Runcorn Linnets are happy to announce the Shirt Sponsor line-up for the 2008-2009 season. The home shirts are to be sponsored by The Waterloo Hotel, Runcorn, and the away shirts are to be continued to be sponsored by ASL Maintenance Ltd.

Bel Oates, from the Waterloo Hotel, perhaps more famous as “The Archers” from the BBC sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, said “Gary and I are really pleased to help the club out with sponsoring the shirts, and look forward to the club returning to the town in the near future.”

ASL’s Steve Rodgers, said “Good Luck again this season to the club, I am pleased along with Alison, to help you out with the sponsorship of the Away shirts”.

Glyn Davies of the Runcorn Linnets Board said “I am really pleased with the continued support from ASL, plus a huge thanks to The Waterloo Hotel for coming on board with us, it’s encouraging to see a local establishment helping their local club out”.

29 Jun 2008 : More Tote Winners!

Congratulations to our latest winner, Amber Lane from The Waterloo Hotel Runcorn.

Amber correctly forcasted the winning numbers would be 46 and 23, and wins this weeks jackpot of £160.50, following on from Linnets manager Steve Wilkes who last week scooped £156.50.

21 Jun 2008 : Linnets sign Allan Glover

Steve Wilkes has signed Allan Glover who, in addition to his playing duties, will take on the role of First Team Coach. Allan's a left-back, a PE Teacher by trade, and joined from Bamber Bridge.

He moved to Bamber Bridge in January '08 from Connah's Quay Nomads. He joined the Nomads from Congleton Town in August 2007. Has some previous Welsh Premier experience with Bangor City and Holywell Town back in the 90s, as well as playing for Warrington Town, Northwich Victoria, Bamber Bridge and Skelmersdale. Has also represented England Under-18s and the British Universities.
