22 Apr 2008 : Runcorn lose to Squires Gate 0-3
Runcorn failed to continue their winning form by losing to Squires Gate in the last home match of the season. In what was originally to be the last match of the season, until the rearranged fixture with Salford, the Linnets were under pressure from the off, and the visitors scored in the 9th minute. Runcorn put up a good resistance, and always looked like they were going to equalise, especially in the first period of the second half until, against the run of play, Squires Gate scored their second in the 63rd minute. Ten minutes later the visitors scored their third, and that spelled the end of the game.
19 Apr 2008 : Runcorn beat Silsden 1-0
Vinnie Braine slotted home an Adie Orr cross in the 15th minute to secure the Runcorn win. The rest of the first half the Linnets continued to apply pressure and it could well have been 2 or 3 by half time.
The second half was delayed by 15 minutes, as the referee was changed due to injury, and our thanks go to Dave Rose who was good enough to run the line for the second half.
The second half was a more even affair, but Runcorn still enjoyed the upper hand for most of the half, but couldn't make their chances stick. Pictures

19 Apr 2008 : Sponsored Walk raises funds for the Club
Linnets fans put their aching limbs and blisters to the backs of their minds when they realised that their efforts had raised nearly £2,000 for the club and the R2R Ground Fund. The walk which started at the site of the old ground at Canal Street in Runcorn, and ends at Wincham Park, a distance of around 14 miles, took place on Saturday morning. Thanks to Jon Urquhart for organising the event and, as an employee of Barclays Bank, for arranging £ for £ match funding for the R2R Ground Fund as part of the Barclays Community Investment Programme. Gareth Lewis, Barclays North West Community Relations Officer, said, “At Barclays we strive to strengthen local communities in which we live and work by supporting a range of causes from local schools to centres for older people. This is a fantastic example of Barclays staff fundraising with the local community to achieve something which we hope will make a real and lasting difference”. Barclays are justifiably proud of their leading community investment programme, which added up to £46.5 million in 2006.
