07 Apr 2008 : John Greenhalgh becomes first Ground Founder

Thanks go to John Greenhalgh, who has become the first "Ground Founder" by making his £500 donation to the ground fund on Saturday. Ground Founders will be commemorated in the new clubhouse on the Founders Board, where their names will be displayed in gold letters.

If you would like to join John in the Ground Founders group, then you can choose to pay via the Ground Fund page, although transaction charges would apply, so it may be better to contact the club, and pay by cheque or transfer, although the Google Checkout facility is the only way to pay using a credit card. Payments can also be made in monthly installments, rather than in a single lump sum.

31 Mar 2008 : Deadline day signing

Today the club have completed the signing of Stuart Telfer, a versatile midfielder previously at Padiham and Darwen.

23 Mar 2008 : Halton 5 Mile Road Race raises funds

Halton Haven, and Runcorn Linnets have benefitted from the efforts of Deb Pritchard, Peter Gordon, Darryl Johnston and Lynn Johnston, pictured with the Mayor and Mayoress of Halton, Councillor Mike Hodgkinson and his wife Kathy. The four Linnets fans obtained sponsorship for the Halton 5 Mile Road Race. which supports Macmillan Cancer Support, and sponsorship proceeds are to be split between Halton Haven, the R2R Ground Fund, and the club.

22 Mar 2008 : Runcorn draw with Bacup 2-2

Two goals from Dave Thompson, his first goals of 2008, gave the Linnets a hard earned point in a game they dominated for long periods. The last 20 mins of the second half was played in a blizzard as Bacup was hit by a snowstorm, but Bacup kept going till the end and snatched a point with an 86th min penalty following handball in the box from Andy McCoy, which went un-punished, as the referee wasn't actually sure which player actually handled the ball.
