Caretaker Manager, Robbie Holcroft has made four new additions to the squad.

They are:

Stephen O'Brien, a Centre Midfield player, signed from Ashton Athletic, with Southport being one of his previous clubs.

Jay and Joe McKane, with Jay being a right back and Joe being a central defender. The brothers were released by Winsford United earlier this week in time for us to sign them.

Kevin Brownrigg, a versatile defender, signed from local football.

All four are eligible to play at Newcastle Town.

As had been rumoured, we can today confirm that Thomas Lamb has been signed by Warrington Town.

The latest news from the squad is that there have been no departures specifically since we parted company with the management team. Francis Barry had left prior to New Year, and Paul Scott remains uncontactable, and consequently is no longer in the squad.

We have had a couple of players return to the squad; Paul Rogers has returned, along with Jay Edwards, and Robbie has looked to strengthen the squad. We hope to complete the signing of a player from Winsford shortly, and we also have a 27 year old ex-Liverpool Apprentice, and Newcastle United ex-professional, joining the squad imminently.

In addition, there are 4 trialists at training this evening, and Robbie is confident that he will be taking a competitive 18 man squad to Newcastle Town this weekend.

The recruitment process for a new manager is going well. We have received over a dozen applications so far, with the majority having had experience at North West Counties level or higher.

Interviews have already been arranged with many of the candidates, and they will take place over the next week or so.

Before we knew what the response would be like, we had wondered whether it would be beneficial to place adverts in the Non-League press, however it's looking like that would be an unnecessary expense.
