31 May 2007 : Interview with Tony Snell - BBC Radio Merseyside

Press Officer, Steve Pritchard, was interviewed on the Tony Snell show on BBC Radio Merseyside today, about the prospect of a new ground in Runcorn. Unfortunately, it looks as though the interview has been missed by the "Listen Again" feature on the BBC website, but rest assured, it was very good. ;-)

23 May 2007 : Press Release - Latest on Ground

The club has issued a press release regarding the latest news about our return to a ground in Runcorn.

Runcorn Linnets have identified a potential site for a stadium as part of their long terms plans to return the Club to Runcorn.

The site is at Riverside College Halton, Runcorn Campus, Campus Drive, Runcorn.

The Club is currently active in negotiating a lease agreement with the College. Plans for the site are at an advanced stage, but a final decision is subject to a formal lease agreement with the college, local planning approval and the necessary project funding. The agreement of the college board of governors and funding body (LSC) is also formally required before any go-ahead can occur.

13 May 2007 : Press Release - AGM, Tote and Golf Day

The club has issued a press release regarding the upcoming AGM, the Tote, and the Golf Day to be held in July.

Runcorn Linnets are holding their Trust Annual General Meeting at Stockham Lodge, Runcorn, on 22nd May, at 7:15pm. This will be the first AGM following a full year of operations as a football club, and will include presentation of accounts, and Chairman's report.

The AGM is only open to Trust members, and it costs just £5 to join the Trust for one year. More details can be found on the club's website at www.RuncornLinnetsFC.co.uk.

The club is soon to launch it's new Weekly Tote, and is looking for agents to sell tickets. Any agent who sells more than £20 worth of tickets per week is eligible for a free season ticket. In addition, Tickets can also be purchased at Red Admiral and the Norton Arms, plus the ability to play via the club's website is being investigated.

The Tote is simple to play. Just choose two numbers between 1 and 49, and if your numbers are the first two drawn on the Saturday National Lottery Lotto Draw, in either order, then you are a winner. The prize fund is made up of 50% of the ticket price, of just £1, with the remainder going straight to club funds. Unclaimed winnings roll-over to the next week, so there's a real possibility of a great pay-out.

Runcorn Linnets FC are also holding a day of Golf at Runcorn Golf Club on Friday, 13th July. The day consists of a light snack on arrival, followed by 18 holes of golf, and in the evening, after the round, a meal is served in the clubhouse. Entrants will joined on the day by a sprinkling of ex-Runcorn FC Legends including Jock Cunningham, Ian Brady, Ossie Smith and Alan King with the possibility of a few more familiar names joining them too.

The cost of entry is £200 for a team of 4 and there will various prizes to be won on the day. Places can now be booked for this event by contacting the club through the website via the "Contact Us" link, or by telephoning Glyn Davies on 07870 147988.
