24 Apr 2007 : Press Release - Trials
The club has issued a press release regarding the Trials session to be held on 17th May.
Runcorn Linnets FC are inviting players who think they can cut the mustard in North West Counties Division 1 to attend a Trials session, following their successful promotion campaign in their inaugural season. Final league standings are yet to be confirmed, but the Linnets have done enough to definitely secure one of the two confirmed promotion places, with only Winsford playing their matches in hand able to take the title from them. During the course of the season the club receives numerous requests for Trials from players, and this year’s event will take place in Runcorn on 17th May. Due to the popularity of last year’s Trials, anyone that wishes to attend must book a place or they will not be seen by the management. To book your place please contact the Club Secretary, Tony Waddington on 07716 541 800 or email [email protected].
21 Apr 2007 : Runcorn beat Holker 2-1
Having more than "earned the right to play at this level" Runcorn Linnets secured promotion with a 2-1 win over Holker Old Boys. An 18th minute goal from Michael Young put the Linnets ahead, but just five minutes later a penalty was awarded to the visitors, much against the advice of the Runcorn faithful. It was duly put away to equalise, but within a minute Andy McCoy put the Linnets ahead again. Match Report
