03 May 2006 : Fund-raising - your club needs YOU
As part of the big push to get the new club off the ground, we need to get funds into the club as soon as possible. Not only will this money be necessary to pay some of the bills we will incurr in the coming weeks (Auditors fees, subscriptions, etc) but it will also lend credibility to our whole application to join North West Counties. Some people have offered to make donations, others have suggested a regular standing order. Please spare whatever you can afford because it all adds up, and will make a difference as we are starting out. Account Name : Runcorn Supporters Society Ltd T/A Linnets Independent Supporters Trust Sort Code : 08-92-99 Account No : 6515657500 (NB. The two 0s on the end seem superfluous) We also need volunteers to help Paul Ramsden with the fund-raising effort, so if you are willing to help, then put your details on the feedback page and we'll get in touch with you.
02 May 2006 : Fans to form Runcorn Linnets
The committee of the new "break-away" club met today, and a number of key personnel positions were filled.Chairman - Stuart White Vice Chariman - Hedley Edwards Secretary - Tony Waddington Vice Secretary - Lynn Johnson Treasurer - Rob Wilks Fund Raiser/Commercial - Paul Ramsden Liaison - Steve Pritchard
A significant change from what was previously thought was with regard to the name of the new club. Originally it was hoped that AFC Runcorn would be a suitable name, but to avoid any possible conflict or confusion with Runcorn AFC, it was decided to adopt "Runcorn Linnets" as the new club name.
The next weeks will be vital to the new club, and it's priorities are to get the Trust in place, raise funds, and get an application into the North West Counties league to play next season in division 2.
The application to NWCL2 will be irrespective of the status of Runcorn FC Halton/Runcorn AFC Ltd, and so isn't reliant upon liquidation of the company.
This website will soon only be accessible via one of the following URLS: www.runcornfc.co.uk www.runcornlinnets.co.uk www.runcornlinnetsfc.co.uk

28 Apr 2006 : Fans hope to re-form club
There was an open meeting held at the Quayside in Canal Street on Friday 28th April to discuss the future of Runcorn football club. Minutes to this meeting can be found here.
The outcome of the meeting was that the fans wish to encourage the existing club to be liquidated, leaving the way open for them to create a new club to re-form, which they hope to be called AFC Runcorn. The penalty of dropping at least two leagues/divisions means that the aspirations of the new club are to play in one of the North West Counties Leagues.
22 Apr 2006 : Robbie Holcroft is named player of the year
In a simple ceremony after today's match, 'keeper Robbie Holcroft was named Player of the Year by the Supporters Club, and Manager Steve Carragher received the Noel Bell Achievement award.
Robbie, who played today despite a hamstring injury which prevented him from taking goal-kicks, has been a real asset to the team, and despite the high scores against Runcorn in recent matches, it's been clear that without a 'keeper of Robbie's calibre in goal, then things could well have been much, much worse.
All of the fans would like to thank Robbie Holcroft, and Steve Carragher for sticking with the team over such a difficult season.
22 Apr 2006 : Runcorn lose to Blyth Spartans 0-5
Runcorn gave a much more convincing display against League toppers, Blyth Spartans, today than other recent matches, but suffered a 0-5 defeat nonetheless.
Thanks to the Blyth Fans who, like the Telford Fans recently, dug into their wallets in order to help Runcorn out. Their generosity was really appreciated. Match Report
