Runcorn's players have 10 days to prepare for their Liverpool Senior Cup fixture with Premiership outfit, Liverpool FC. They have a free Saturday on the 17th December following the postponement of the Farsley Celtic fixture, giving the Linnets the opportunity for a rest preceding the Liverpool match, as well as the possibility of getting some Christmas shopping done. The regional cups give the larger clubs the opportunity to field youth teams, etc, but in an attempt to create some interest in the fixture, Liverpool are to send their reserve squad, including Neil Mellor scorer of 6 goals from 21 first team appearances.

The Liverpool Senior Cup round will take place at Valerie Park on Tuesday the 20th of December with a 19:45 kick off.
