10 Jan 2004 : Runcorn lose to Altrincham 2-1
Runcorn exited from the FA Trophy with a 2-1 defeat by Altrincham at Moss Lane. Altrincham went 1-0 up after just five minutes following some fumbling and poor clearance attempts that regular fans will be familiar with. For the remainder of the first half Runcorn looked the stronger team, but were unable to capitalise on their superiority. The second half was a different matter, and Altrincham looked more of a match, which culminated in a second goal after 70 minutes. Ten minutes later Ged Courtney scored for Runcorn with a well struck goal, but even the fresh legs of substitutes David Ness and Adam Carden couldn't help score an equaliser to force a home replay.
