20 Dec 2003 : HENKEL ANNOUNCE £100,000 SPONSORSHIP DEAL

Henkel, parent company of League Sponsors Unibond have announced they would be extending their sponsorship of the League into an eleventh year. The £100,000 deal which will expire in June 2005 takes the amount of money injected into the game through sponsorship to over a £1 Million. Since the commencement of the Sponsorship in 1994 Unibond has grown to become one of the biggest names in DIY and its range of products now includes major new innovations such as No More Nails and No More Big Gaps.

League Chairman Peter Maude said, "I'm absolutely delighted that our agreement has been extended to June 2005. It demonstrates the excellent goodwill and co-operation between the League and Unibond. I know I can say that all member clubs will be equally delighted to hear this news especially in view of the current restructuring of non league football." Rob Jenkins, Unibond Sponsorship Director added, "I look forward to continuing the partnership with the Unibond League and to improve still further the standing of the league and the reputation of Unibond's excellent product range."

The deal shows what can be achieved when both parties work hard together to produce benefits for each other. Unibond have certainly been quick off the mark in giving the League their full backing during the uncertainty of restructuring and have set a high standard for other sponsors to hopefully follow.

13 Dec 2003 : Runcorn lose to Lancaster City 0-1

Runcorn were unable to make the last home game of 2003 against Lancaster City their first home win of the season . The single goal of a rather uninspiring match came in the 44th minute. Runcorn looked the more dangerous in the seconf half, and gave the Lancaster 'keeper a few saves to make, but, unfortunately, nothing too taxing.

Highlight of the game for many will be the return of Dom Morley, who came on as a sub in the second half.

Hopefully 2004 will see an improvement in home form.
