29 Oct 2003 : Runcorn beat Marine 1-3
Two goals from the new Runcorn manager, Chris Lightfoot, and one from Ged Courtney was enough to secure victory over Marine in the league, 3-1. Runcorn lost out to Marine last week in the UniBond Cup with a 2-0 defeat, but this first victory under new management shows that the tables can be turned, and hopefully is the start of a run of better results.
25 Oct 2003 : Runcorn lose to Bradford P.A. 0-1
Runcorn's FA Cup run ended with a one goal defeat from Bradford Park Avenue. Runcorn had the upper hand for the first half an hour, having numerous chances, and about 90% of the play. However, Bradford sneaked a goal in the 28th minute, and put Runcorn on the defensive.
After half time Bradford looked the more dangerous, but Runcorn again had a number of chances that they couldn't make stick. Substitute Danny Salt had to be carried off the pitch due to injury.
Bradford have been drawn at home against Bristol City in the first round proper, and we wish them luck.
