18 Oct 2003 : Chris Lightfoot and Eddie Bishop are new management team

Chris Lightfoot has taken on the Manager's job at Runcorn FC Halton, following Liam Watson's departure to Southport FC. Neil Whalley follows Liam to Southport, so ex-Runcorn player Eddie Bishop has been appointed as Chris's assistant.

We'll try and get an online chat session with Chris and Eddie as soon as we can, and look out for the new manager's page when things have settled down, and he has found his feet.

15 Oct 2003 : Dramatic FA Cup Win for Runcorn FC Halton

Runcorn FC Halton go into the 4th qualifying round of the FA Cup after a dramatic 5-4 penalty win against Nuneaton. Full-time score was 2-2. Kevin Leadbetter opening the scoring for the Linnets before being sent off after 35 minutes. Neil Moore replied for Nuneaton just after the start of the second half before Steve Daly put ten men Linnets into the lead. Nuneaton equalised through Ged Murphy with almost the last kick of the game. Extra time was stalemate with Ged Courtney, Liam Watson, Matty McGinn, Chris Price and Danny Salt being the successful penalty takers. Runcorn FC Halton are now home to Bradford Park Ave in the next round. Tie to be played on Saturday 25th October.

12 Oct 2003 : FA CUP REPLAY

The FA Cup replay against Nuneaton Borough will be on Tuesday 14th October 2003 Kick off 7.45pm

12 Oct 2003 : Lee Parle

Sad news for young Lee Parle who has been forced to retire from football at the age of just 20 following medical advice about a neck problem. Lee played much of last season for the Linnets and was an important member of the team, scoring some vital goals. He looked to have a very bright future in the game. Everyone at the Club wishes him well with his future endeavours away from football.
