30 Nov 2002 : Runcorn bow out of FA Trophy

Runcorn were unable to come back from a flurry of goals at the beginning of the second half against Rugby United in the FA Trophy. Goals came in the 47th, 51st (penalty), and 56th minutes to give Rugby an emphatic win, putting Runcorn out of the second competition in a week, following their FA Cup defeat on the 26th against Bristol Rovers.

26 Nov 2002 : Runcorn bow out of FA Cup

In front of a crowd of 2434, Runcorn put up a fantastic effort against Bristol Rovers. Rovers went ahead in the 18th minute, and through an own goal made it 1-1 in the 19th. The game was exciting with lots of end to end stuff. Liam Watson, who had been substituted for Matty McNeil, was very unlucky to make it 2-1 in the second half when his attempt to beat the Rover's 'keeper hit the woodwork.

Bristol managed to make the final score 3-1, with both of their subsequent goals coming in the second half of extra time where their professional fitness looked to be paying dividends.

Runcorn have nothing to be sorry about, their performance was great throughout, and they spent the latter stages of the match with only 10 men, after Lee Parle was sent off for his second yellow card offence (which the crowd strongly disputed).

Dom Morley got Man of the Match.

23 Nov 2002 : Bristol Rovers to come to Runcorn after 3-0 loss

Runcorn's FA Cup 1st Round replay opponents, Bristol Rovers, will be coming to the Halton Stadium off a 3-0 drubbing at home against Wrexham. Although this may have a negative effect on the crowd coming from Bristol, we can only hope that this bodes well for a Runcorn victory in the match.

23 Nov 2002 : Runcorn draw with Hucknall 3-3

Despite taking an early lead from a Kevin Leadbetter goal, Runcorn were unable to maintain the advantage. Hucknall pulled two back in short order, and Dominic Morley equalised. The final score was 3-3, the third Runcorn goal being scored by Gary Lunt.

20 Nov 2002 : Chorley match off

The match against Chorley in the UniBond Cup, due to be played on the 20th November has been postponed.
