Runcorn FC Halton have signed youngster Lee Parle from local football. 18 year old plays in midfield.

Runcorn FC Halton have received a bye in the first round of the Liverpool Senior Cup and have been drawn at home to Tranmere Rovers in the second round. Tie to be played before the end of January 2003.

Runcorn have drawn Wakefield & Emley in the FA Cup. The game will be played at home on Saturday, 28th September. Kick off is 3:00pm. Please note, as this is not a league match, there are no concessions available, i.e. Scratch cards with entry discounts/offers are not applicable.

An initial good start from Runcorn went unrewarded as Gateshead went ahead after 13 minutes. Steve Carragher equalised before half time, but all in all an uninspiring game.

In the battle of the "Linnets", Runcorn were unable to put a dent in Burscough's unbeaten run or clean sheet for the season.

A lapse in concentration in the 59th minute, just as Liam Watson was waiting to come on and substitute Wes Kinney, and hopefully break the deadlock that had been endured until then, allowed Burscough through the defence to score their first goal.

Kevin Leadbetter was sent off after performing his second two footed tackle of the evening, which meant that Runcorn were always going to struggle to hold station a man down.

A disputed penalty decision went against Runcorn in the 90th minute, and Burscough went 2-0 up.
