A Steve Carragher goal in the first half put Runcorn ahead, but Worksop equalised before half time. In the second half, Worksop went ahead, but Liam Watson managed to equalise, leaving the score at 2-2.

Runcorn were beaten by their strongest competition so far this season. Droylsden passed well, and had plenty of pace, which culminated in a goal half an hour into the game. Runcorn's missed out on a penalty when the ball was handled in the area, which the assistant refereee flagged for, but the referee didn't give it. Early in the second half Droylsden made it two, making a come-back from Runcorn even more unlikley.

After 75 minutes, Runcorn went down to 10 men after Dominic Morely was sent off for his second yellow card offence. Ten minutes later, Droylsden had a player sent off too. Runcorn almost went down to 9 men when substitute John Ryder received the yellow, then red card, after pointing out the number on his shirt he remained on the pitch, so it can only be asssumed that the ref got a bit mixed up.
