13 Nov 2001 : Vauxhall v Runcorn draw in the UniBond Cup 2-2

Vauxhall went ahead with seven minutes left of the first half. Alan Cowley, scoring his first goal of the season, equalised a few minutes later.

In the second half, Mike Tomlinson made it two, but the home team were able to score another to leave the final score at 2-2.

10 Nov 2001 : Lancaster hold Runcorn to a draw at 1-1

A Paul McNally goal in the first half saw Lancaster and Runcorn end the match with a score-line of 1-1.

08 Nov 2001 : Ian Baines signs for Runcorn

Experienced defender Ian Baines, who last played for Marine, has signed for Runcorn to replace Tony Ward who has retired due to injury.

07 Nov 2001 : Runcorn beat Burscough 4-0

The goal scorers were the same as the Belper match, just in a different order. A Chris Price goal, followed by two Paul McNally goals, rounded off with a Liam Watson goal, saw Runcorn beat Burscough by four goals to nil in the League at the AutoQuest. Runcorn looked good all night, and there could have been more goals - Burscough never seemed to provide much opposition.

03 Nov 2001 : Tony Ward Retires

It has been announced today that Tony Ward has retired due to arthritis in his hips. He's been told, despite being only 31, that he will require hip replacements in the next few years.

We wish him well, and he will be missed - he could always be relied upon to give 100% at all times.
