Two Paul McNally goals in the first half, followed by a Liam Watson goal, and a Chris Price goal in the last minutes, saw Runcorn beat Belper Town by four goals to nil in the FA Trophy match played at Christchurch Meadow.

The next round of the FA Trophy is to be played at home against Farsley Celtic on 1st December.

A Paul McNally goal after 32 minutes gave Runcorn the lead they were to keep until the end.

The first half was reasonably paced, with Runcorn having the slight upper hand.

The second half saw both teams step up a gear, and Frickley had a number of chances that they failed to make count.

John Benson has moved to Prescot Cables permanently after his loan spell there. Alan Cowley completes his loan spell at Skelmersdale, and joins Benson at Prescot Cables, but only on loan.

Runcorn continue their inconsitent form. They made a good start, but after half an hour, the visitors went ahead. A few minutes later, Peter Ellis brought down a charging Trafford player in the box, who dutifuly put away the penalty that was subsequently given.

About half an hour into the second half, Trafford made it 3, with Runcorn seemingly unable to get their chances on target, let alone make them count.

A late goal from Gary Lunt was little consolation.

David Ness broke his foot in the match against Gainsborough on the 20th and will be out of action for at least four weeks. We all wish him a speedy recovery.
