26 Sep 2001 : Runcorn defeated by Altrincham 0-2

Altrincham were one of the top four going into the game, but looked to be far from a 'class team' at the AutoQuest Stadium. However, it was the same story for Runcorn as for other recent matches, and they couldn't manage to finish the chances they made.

Runcorn were unlucky to have a trickling ball cleared off the line in the first half, but the Altrincham Goalkeeper did make some good saves in amongst the shots that went straight to him.

The second half saw the two goals from Altrincham, the second after a complete breakdown in the Runcorn defence.

Attendance : 236

22 Sep 2001 : Runcorn beat Bishop Auckland by 3 goals to 1

Two goals from Paul McNally, and one from Steve Carragher saw Runcorn put an end to their poor run of results with a 3-1 victory over Bishop Auckland at their Kingsway Ground.

21 Sep 2001 : David Robinson leaves for Accrington Stanley while Runcorn signs two new players

It has been confirmed today that midfielder David Robinson has signed for Accrington Stanley, but as Robbo leaves, Runcorn sign two new players. Dominic Morley, a midfielder, has been signed from Droylsden, and striker Kevin Leadbetter has been signed on loan from Southport for a month.

18 Sep 2001 : Runcorn suffer defeat at Colwyn Bay 1-0

A first half goal from the home side saw Runcorn trying hard to equalise, but seemed unable to find the target on a number of occasions. Peter Ellis had to replace Mark Winstanley after he suffered a cut to the head in a goal-line incident.

This is the fifth defeat in a row suffered by Runcorn. The team are going to Bishop Auckland on Saturday to try and reverse this trend.

15 Sep 2001 : Runcorn lose to Blyth Spartans 2-1

A Liam Waston goal just before half time put Runcorn in the lead. The equaliser came shortly after half time, and the second goal came about 20 minutes into the second half.

Runcorn had some chances in the first half to get ahead, but generally it was quite even. The second half saw a more physical Blyth Spartans team, and although it was still quite even, Blyth were better able to capitalise on the chances they made.

This is the fourth consecutive loss for Runcorn, who started the season with much promise. Hopefully, we can turn things around on Tuesday, away, at Colwyn Bay.

Attendance : 276
