21 Aug 2020 : Defender Josh Brizell joins Runcorn Linnets

Runcorn Linnets are pleased to announce the capture of Josh Brizell, following impressive displays in pre-season (appearing as Trialist D).

He brings experience of the three non-league levels above us.

28-year-old Josh started his career at Rochdale before moving on to Hyde in the Conference National and Conference North, making 119 appearances for the Tigers and scoring eight goals.

He joined Marine in the Northern Premier League's top flight in 2016.

Able to play as a right back or centre back, Josh appeared against Linnets in September 2018 for Colwyn Bay in our 1-0 NPL victory on the North Wales Coast. He had joined the Seagulls from Marine 12 months earlier.

Josh has also worn the colours of AFC Telford United and Glossop North End.

Welcome to the club, Josh!

20 Aug 2020 : Tickets Arrangements for Home Friendlies

Further to our announcement earlier today, we are in a position to allow 200 people into the ground for Saturday's visit of Vauxhall Motors and the two subsequent August home friendlies.

The late confirmation that a limited crowd will be allowed into games left us with very little time to prepare. Some clubs have announced that their fixture this Saturday's will remain behind closed doors.

But after such a long and difficult wait through lockdown, we desperately wanted to ensure that we welcomed back supporters - or certainly, as many as possible - at the earliest opportunity.

We, therefore, opted to go ahead with the maximum number of spectators allowed.

Inevitably, some will be disappointed but we hope everyone will appreciate and understand the wide-ranging operational difficulties we have faced since 2019-20 fixtures were suspended and the ongoing strains on our volunteer officials to keep things running.

To ensure all arrangements are as safe as possible, admission to matches will until further notice be ticket and these can be purchased online only.

Tickets whether adult or concession, will be priced at £4 with a 10% booking fee.

In line with our recent pledge to better reward and recognise our Trust members, they will be offered first refusal on tickets.

If you are a member and we already have your eMail address, we will contact you shortly with details of how to apply. If we don't have such details, please provide them via Contact Us.

Trust members have until 6:00pm on Friday to buy tickets before we will be accepting applications from the general public.

Each Trust member will be allowed one ticket. Family members will be allocated up to four tickets - two paying adults with a maximum of two junior members being admitted free.

Remaining tickets will go on general sale on a first come, first served basis from 6pm Friday when the exclusive Trust member purchase window closes.

Details of how non-members can obtain tickets will be available from 6pm Friday on the website and social media.

In staging matches, the club will adhere strictly to the Government's Covid-19 regulations and follow FA guidelines, which have been updated so that some fans can be allowed to attend non-league matches at Step 3 and below.

The club has produced a detailed risk assessment, providing all relevant match-day information including the special precautions and procedures in place.

It is imperative that all fans coming to games understand and familiarise themselves with the new practises and restrictions while following the now customary social distancing and hand hygiene routines.

We look forward to welcoming as many members and fans as we can as manager Calum McIntyre, his staff and players continue the build-up to the new season while reminding those unable to attend that they can follow all the action on Linnets Live Radio.

01 Aug 2020 : Paul Shanley links up with Rylands

It has been confirmed this afternoon that Paul Shanley has signed for the newly- renamed Warrington Rylands 1906.

This brings official confirmation of Shanners' departure from The Millbank Linnets Stadium.

He has been a terrific servant and standout performer over four seasons with us and a big part of our never- to-be-forgotten North West Counties title success.

We wish him all the best for the future.

24 Jul 2020 : Peter will be with us for a Wylie longer!

A stalwart figure in Runcorn Linnets' first two Northern Premier League seasons, Peter Wylie has committed for a third.

Peter arrived in time for our first home game of 2018-19, against Chasetown, and has been a regular ever since.

He has also sustained a high level of performance and consistency in his customary central defensive role while also displaying great versatility when operating occasionally at full back or in midfield.

Peter's NPL experience has been pivotal to the club settling into life at Step 4 of the National League System.

His 43 starts in his first Linnets campaign made Peter the third highest appearance maker that season. He opens this Runcorn season with more than 70 outings already under his belt.

The player signed from  Marine, then of the NPL Premier Division. He has also seen service with Skelmersdale United in two spells.

The now 26-year-old began his career at Blackburn Rovers, featuring in their FA Youth Cup side, before moving to Skem in 2013.

He joined Stalybridge Celtic in March 2015, making 55 appearances for the Bower Fold club's National League North team, before returning to Skem from where he signed for Marine in 2017.

23 Jul 2020 : Louis Corrigan leaves the Linnets

Another of our NWCL title-winning squad has left the club with Louis Corrigan moving to City of Liverpool.

The experienced left full back joined us in the second half of the championship campaign. He was equally influential on our promotion to the Northern Premier League with his general quality and ability from set-pieces.

Louis made his Linnets debut on January 13th 2018 in a 3-1 home win over Congleton and went on to make 97 appearances, scoring 18 goals (including 11 penalties).

We thank Louis for his valuable contribution over the last two and a half years and wish him well for the future.
