26 Nov 2019 : Liam Caddick completes Runcorn Linnets move
Runcorn Linnets manager Michael Ellison has added some extra attacking firepower by wrapping up the signing of a player, who scored four goals against us last season.
Liam Caddick, who is a winger or striker, followed up his goal for Droylsden in our inaugural Northern Premier League fixture, a 4-2 defeat at The Butchers Arms by registering a hat-trick as The Bloods won the return clash at The Millbank 4-0.
Liam's pace, skill and scoring ability had made him a firm fans' favourite at Droylsden, who he joined after a second spell with Burscough.
In between his two stints in West Lancashire with "the other Linnets" he had a brief stay in the Welsh Premier League with Bangor City.
Early in his career, Liam also served Buckley Town and Formby.
Ello said: "Liam is a great signing for us - as soon as he became available, I didn't waste any time in trying to get the deal done.
"He's quick, strong, can play in a number of positions and knows where the net is.
"He will go straight into the squad against Brighouse and I'm delighted to have him on board."
Liam's arrival follows the departure of summer signing Janie Rainford to NPL North West rivals Mossley.
"Mossley put seven days in on Jamie," explained the Linnets boss.
"They did things the right way, I allowed Jamie to speak to them, they made him a really good offer and he decided to leave.
" Ultimately, it was his decision I'd like to thank him for his time at Linnets and wish him all the best in his new venture."
In a busy spell of transfer activity, Linnets have also signed two more young players on loans from EFL clubs in Reece Gaskell, a midfielder from Oldham Athletic and Accrington Stanley striker Alex O'Neill.
A warm welcome to all our new signings.
